Data Visualisation
Programs: Illustrator / Microsoft Power BI
This project was to design a visual interpretation of census data in the form of a chosen graph. My project used a tree graph to depict the monetary value between rented homesteads and owned.

DESIGN RATIONALE
The purpose of this design visualisation is to help allow the general populous to better understand the financial divide between renters and homeowners in Australia based on data collected between 2017-2018. The physical installation prototype is designed to be placed in a well-trafficked public setting, to allow anyone to view and read the context to have a simple visual aid to help explain the divide that households face with financial burdens, including aspects such as weekly financial costs, household income and household size. Like many of my fellow colleagues, I rent and will probably be renting for the foreseeable future, so issues such as housing and unequal housing priorities affect me and my loved ones. The target audience of this project is everyone, all people need housing, and no matter what walk of life and financial housing lifestyle one may come from, the importance of viewing life and others' struggles from a different perspective can humble anyone. The core concept of this project is to inform and empathetically affect anyone who comes into contact with it, leaving them more knowable and a little more thoughtful than before.
